A. There will be three levels: A, B, & C. Registrants will be able to sign up for whatever level they deem fit. Captains at each of the levels will hold a draft and select what they deem will be even teams. The Rink will not be determining eligibility of players any any level. Captains may encourage players to move to other levels. The goal is to create a fun and competitive hockey playing environment that allows friends to play together (or against each other) and to enjoy the comraderie of Adult Hockey. Q. What about stats? A. The Rink will be using statistical packages provided by Pointstreak (who administers many pro-leagues). The result will be stats that will accumulate from year to year (follow the player) as well as stats provided real-time during games. Stats will no longer have a delay before being posted to the website. Q. Do I get medical coverage? A. Yes. A a part of your required USA Hockey Membership, all participants will received excess medical coverage and general liability coverage. A full description can be found at the USA Hockey Full Description of Insurance Coverages. Q. Do I have to wear a HECC Approved Helmet? A. Rule 304(c) of the USA Hockey Rulebook states, "...Players in the Adult classification must wear a hockey helmet (including non-HECC approved) with chin strap properly fastened..." Therefore any helmet with do as long as there is a chin strap. The "Eddie" rule in our league requires that all players wear eye protection (shields) at the minimum. Q. How many players will be placed on each team ? A. Each team will have a maximum roster size of 13. 12 skaters and 1 goalie. Q. How are teams put together? A. The captains will hold a draft at the beginning of each season drafting players by position with consideration of skill, relationships, ride share, and other criteria to create a balanced, competitive, and fun environments for all players. Q. Are there scholarships available for players that need financial assistance? A. Yes. A Scholarship Fund in honor of Tony Chiapuzio has been established to help player in need of assistance to cover the fees for league. Scholarships are considered on a case by case basis.
